Ashley Marinaccio is an artist who creates work that challenges the status quo. She is dedicated to documenting the socio-political issues that define our times. Ashley's photography has been published in Time Out NY, The Daily News and Huffington Post. She is the recipient of AAA (American Anthropological Association) Photo of the Year Award (2015) and part of the Indypendent 2012 winning team of CUNY's Graduate School of Journalism's "Ippy Award" for the photo essay "We Contain Multitudes: Occupy Wall Street". Ashley is a regular contributer to Green Room Blog and The Indypendent.
Ashley is co-founder/Artistic Director of Girl Be Heard and co-founder/director of Co-Op Theatre East. She holds her M.A. in Performance Studies from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and BA in theatre directing and sociology/anthropology with minors in women/gender and Middle Eastern from Pace University. She is a member of SAG/AFTRA, League of Professional Theatre Women and American Anthropological Association.
